Leif Elggren's paintings and copper engravings are shown in Uppsala Cathedral 24 February – 24 March 2024, with an opening on Saturday 24 February at 3 PM
In the exhibition Ur rätt vinkel uppstår miraklet which is shown in Uppsala Cathedral 24 February – 24 March, we get to see Leif Elggren's thematically connected series of paintings Yellow & Black in a selection. The second part of the exhibition is a reactivation of Elggren's project with a connection to the French Baroque artist Claude Mellan (1598–1688) who in 1649 made a copper engraving with a motif depicting the face of Jesus imprinted on St. Veronica's Sudarium (sweat cloth). In Uppsala Cathedral, Elggren shows two works in relational dialogue with Claude Mellan. Attentive visitors are encouraged to study the copper plate from the right angle.
