EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art
At EMMA, the retrospective exhibition Passage opens with the detailed, poetic paintings of the Swedish painter Ulla Wiggens (b. 1942). The exhibition highlights the breadth of Wiggen's iconic 60-year artistry, which includes an interest in thoroughly exploring both people and technical devices.
Ulla Wiggen's artistic career began during his studies in the 1960s. She had her international breakthrough as an artist in the 2010s. In recent years, Wiggen's work has been shown, among other things, at the 59th Venice Biennale and her work has been acquired by many prominent collections.
The exhibition is produced in collaboration with the Fridericianum in Kassel, Germany. In addition to EMMA, the artist's solo exhibition will also be shown at Fridericianum (24.2.–28.7.2024) and at Västerås Art Museum (spring 2025).
