Astrid Kajsa Nylander is an artist and teacher of liberal arts, based in Stockholm. She studied drawing and painting with Professor Jutta Koether at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg and obtained her Master's degree in 2018. Nylander's practice includes performance and installation in works that can be described as painting in the extended field. Her ongoing painting series minijobs has been shown in solo exhibitions at PAGE (NYC), New York and Belenius, Stockholm, and is part of Moderna Museet's collection. In 2019, Nylander was awarded the Stiftung Sparkasse Siegen prize, followed by a solo exhibition in the Siegen Kunstverein (DE). Together with Helena Lund Ek, Astrid Kajsa Nylander runs Painting Practice— a forum for painting with artist talks, exhibitions, reading circles and workshops.
Aspen shows art in the premises with a focus on contemporary visual and video art. We want to show high-quality art to a wide audience, and create space for the art and the audience to meet in a place where several cultural forms interact and provide space for conversation and interaction.
