Leif Elggren is active as a writer, visual artist, publisher, performance artist and composer. Based in Stockholm. Educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In his work he moves between dreams and subtle absurdities such as turning social hierarchies upside down. His work often includes royal crowns, emblematic symbols of power, viruses, infectious diseases, furniture and the combination of yellow and black. His sound works are often soundtracks to installations and performances. In 1988 he formed the duo Guds söner together with Kent Tankred. Elggren is also king (together with Carl Michael von Hausswolff) of the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland. Elggren's work has been shown internationally in many contexts, including the Venice Biennale.
