Leif Elggren and Carl Fredrik Hill

Ahead of this summer’s exhibition, Leif Elggren has brought characters and situations from the Physiological Frequencies series alongside with new drawings that were created with Carl Fredrik Hill in mind and an old bluish paper that was ready to be used.
The lines in Leif Elggren’s drawings have the same direct, sensitive and slightly nervous quality as those in Carl Fredrik Hill’s drawings. There is something electric about the whole thing. In Hill’s case, the drawing was strongly influenced by his illness, but regardless of this, one can be drawn into the intuitive creation that both artists’ work demonstrates. Elggren introduces us to his voracious Crown Eaters who devote themselves to their incomprehensible tasks and who arouse associations beyond the simple and direct. The seemingly dark is turned upside down and becomes comical.
